CALUMENO is an architectural lighting studio. We turn concrete, glass and darkness into emotion — museums, hotels, homes and cities that breathe after sunset. 340+ spaces lit on 4 continents.

The name Calumeno comes from lumen — light. Since 2014 we research how photons shape sleep, focus, desire and memory. We don't sell fixtures. We compose atmospheres that make people stay, feel and return.
- ◍Human-centric. 2700K–5000K circadian scenarios, glare < UGR 16, flicker-free drivers. Light that respects biology.
- ◍Radically sustainable. 98% recyclable systems, daylight harvesting, sensors that cut consumption by up to 72%.
- ◍Art + engineering. Own prototyping workshop: brass, opal glass, mycelium diffusers, 3D-printed optics.
- ◍From sketch to switch. Concept, DIALux & VR simulation, custom luminaires, on-site tuning at night.
Founded by architect Mara Calu and light artist Jonas Meno. Today 24 designers, engineers and choreographers of photons. Clients: Aesop-like retail, boutique hotels, galleries, city councils and private villas who hate ceiling spots.

Moodboards, VR walkthroughs, 1:1 mockups. You see light before you pay for it.
Build & hide
Drawings, custom optics, hidden profiles. Technology disappears, atmosphere stays.

Final aiming + programming on site. 2700 scenes? We'll dim them one by one.
We prototype every shadow
In our 400m² black box we test skin tones, stone textures and art under 12 different spectra before specifying a single fixture.
2 a.m. is our favourite meeting
