Ask any beauty girl for the one makeup product that makes the biggest difference to their makeup look and I can guarantee they'll pick mascara. Go on, ask!

That's because for most of us, leaving the house without mascara makes you feel a wee bit naked. A bit bald around the eyes.
But thank goodness there's a whole load of good mascaras on the market for all different price ranges. Problem is, there are almost too many to choose from, and it can be tricky to know which one to go for. Meaning? You often gotta wade through quite a few of 'em to find the golden nuggets.

Because on a recent episode of You Beauty podcast, our friend Leigh Campbell shared her new favourite pick for perfectly curled lashes — and look, if there's someone we can trust with a mascara recommendation it's Leigh!
"My lashes look long," she hinted on the podcast.
And yes, yes. Please do go on... why do they look so long??
"I recently opened the Tarte Tartelette Extra Large Tubing Mascara. It's relatively new — it launched a few months ago but again I was trying not to use a thousand of the same products at once."
"You get it from Sephora. It's so good. It's a tubular mascara. So, anyone that's new here, a tubular mascara creates a little tube around your lashes so you don't get panda eyes or flaky mascara. You remove it with warm water and it comes off like a little shoe."
Little shoes! For your lashes!
As Leigh said, tubular mascaras basically work by forming little polymer tubes around each lash. When it comes to taking your mascara off, a bit of warm water and a (really) gentle pull will make these teeny tubes come off your lashes.
If you're a dame with oily lids, prone to getting teary-eyed, do your makeup on your way to work or go straight from work to the gym, you just gotta give these a whirl.

"Tarte's formula is so lengthening and so workable. I feel like some of them are a bit too clunky — like, you can't really get definition? Because I don't want my lashes to look super defined and long, I want volume as well," Leigh said.
"It's expensive because it's Tarte. So the 8ml, which is your standard-sized mascara, is $49. However, they do a little travel one that you could try for $24 — that's kind of pharmacy prices. It's definitely one of the best tubular mascaras I've tried."
So, how does it compare to Tarte's original formula tubular mascara?
In case you're not yet acquainted, Tarte Tartelette™ Tubing Mascara ($43) is the brand's first tubular mascara.
A crowd favourite, it has rave reviews on TikTok (in fact, our very own Kelly McCarren is a big fan) and it's gone viral for good reason: it's literally dubbed "lash extensions in a tube".
But how does it shape up to the newest formula?
Well, according to Leigh, Tarte Tartelette Extra Large Tubing Mascara is the standout of the two. "This one is better," she told Kelly.
